Saturday, 31 May 2025, I stopped by Radio Panini in Copenhagen and played the opening set of the day.
On a recent trip to Portugal, I was able to meet up with my friend Diogo (XCI) and played some jams on his radio show “Unknown Roads” at Lusophonica. Diogo is on the 1st hour and 2nd hour Break Mode.

Pacific Northwest-based Break Mode utilizes influences of dub, krautrock, trip-hop, EBM, and left-field disco in his original productions, remixes, and DJ sets. His EPs Wash One and Televisions showcase immersive, textured production. His recent remix of DMX Krew’s Unlikely Seeming blurs genre lines seamlessly while remaining a dancefloor heater. Additionally, he manages the Bed of Roses collective and works on additional projects, including Freak Out! and Wormbox.
Bed of Roses: A record label/collective in Portland, Oregon, managed by Gumar
Freak Out!: A collaborative party/DJ duo with Palm Pilot—Resident DJs at Noods Radio.
Wormbox: A collaborative musical project with Cole Baby.

“To finish the album, 'Unlikely Seeming' is given a rework by Portland-based artist Break Mode, managing to achieve a remix that is at once ethereal and uplifting - it has 4am written all over it.”
-Ban Ban Ton Ton on DMX Krew - Unlikely Seeming (Break Mode Remix)
“Best New Deep House May 2024”
-Beatport on DMX Krew - Unlikely Seeming (Break Mode Remix)
“Break Mode's ‘Unlikely Seeming’ remix adds dub and garage flavours to hypnotic electronica.”
-Bleep on DMX Krew - Unlikely Seeming (Break Mode Remix)
“Break Mode, the man behind that blinding ON-U-esque remix of Betamax a little while back, returns with a new track, Bob The Dub, on his own imprint, Bed Of Roses. Pretty piano echoes over a sparse 808-like beat, where it`s joined by a bouncing bionic bucolic arpeggio, and a swooning synthetic melody, that has something of The Cocteau Twins about it. Some very cool Soft Cell “Say Hello, Wave Goodbye” clarinet (or is it a soprano sax?) then provides the pièce de résistance, soloing all over the top of this robotic romance.”
-Ban Ban Ton Ton on Break Mode - Bob the Dub
“Bold bass undulations, shuffling shakers, the serious skanking syncopation of Sub-Vision receives a final remix. Break Mode setting its tape rewinds and shape-shifting sine waves to a slamming, semi-industrial, ON-U-esque beat.”
-Ban Ban Ton Ton on Betamax and Clive Bell - Sub-Vision (Break Mode Overdub)
